As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitri to mark the successful end of one month of fast during the holy month of Ramadan, the Commissioner For Commerce, Industry Cooperatives and Empowerments, Hon Bode Olaonipekun, has sent his goodwill message to commemorate the day.
Dr. Bode Olaonipekun asked Islamic faithful to emulate the virtues of Prophet Mohammad as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr 1443AD.
In a statement personally signed by him today, in Osogbo, the State Capital, Olaonipekun also enjoined muslims to use the period to offer prayers for peace, unity, prosperity, healing of the land, and rapid development at all levels of governance.
According to him, “I used this occasion to call on all Muslims to put into practice lessons learnt during the Ramadan period and to love and share with the less privileged in the society, as exemplified by Prophet Mohammad.
“When every citizen upholds and practises the teachings from our holy books, peace and tranquility would reign in the society.”
The commissioner also urged Muslims and faithful of other religions to redouble their praying efforts and use the advantage of the celebration to offer special prayers to curb the scourge of the dreaded corona virus pandemic for the world to get over it.
He called on the people of the State of Osun, to continue their unfliching support to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola administration, for everyone to have reason to be happy by seeing progressive developmental projects in all nooks and crannies of the state, in no distant time.
