Eid-el-Fitr: Oladepo rejoices with Muslims, urges citizens for sustained prayers to end the deadly coronavirus pandemic


The Ramadan period has been described as a month length journey of spiritual cleansing, faith renewal and self sacrifice.

As we witness the end of this year’s holy month of Ramadan, Muslim faithfuls and citizens of the State of Osun are enjoined to uphold the life enriching lessons of endurance, love, perseverance and piety that the holy month of Ramadan teaches.

In a congratulatory message sent by the Hon. Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Solagbade Oladepo rejoices with the number one citizen of the State of Osun, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, his wife, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola and all Muslims Ummah in Osun State on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast, says “as we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr to mark the beginning of a new Islamic calendar month, I urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to continue on the path of the lessons stem from the Holy month of Ramadan.”

The statement noted that the world all over is passing through a difficult time brought about by the novel covid-19 pandemic.

“Government of the State of Osun is doing all its possible best to stern the tide in order to keep our people and the State free from the virus. I therefore urge all to note that measures to contain the spread of the dreaded disease is still in force”. “We should use this festive period to show appreciation to Allah SWT, pray for the well being of the State and for the pandemic to come to a quick end”, the statement added.
